Apres quelques conversations parmi les proprietaires, J'etais inquiete aux rumeurs du sujet de renouvellement des baux - a propos l'obligation de renouveler. Au meme temps, j'ai entendu les rumeurs d'une amende pour ne pas renouveler! Je viens de rechercher tous les details de l'achat et le bail et je n'en ai trouve aucun mention.

Nous avons commence le bail en aout 2006 - batiment B.
Les termes de notre bail stipulent:
'Le bail s'achevera au terme de la onzieme annee suivant celle de la prise d'effet dudit bail
le bailleur devra faire part au preneur de son intention de renouveler ou non, au plus tard 9 mois avant le terme du present bail"

Nous avons achete l'appartement avec la comprehension que ce sera notre propre apartement a la fin du bail et je crois que, comme nous, la plupart des proprietaires anglais ne s'est pas rendu compte qu'il y aura - peut etre - les problemes a la fin du terme du bail

I hope you dont mind me circulating this to all of you, but I would very much appreciate your thoughts and understanding on this subject.

Having attended the events during owners week in Les Cimes Blanches I was concerned to discover during several conversations the rumours regarding the renewal of the leases, in particular the fact that there is an obligation to renew .
At the same time, it was mentioned that there is a penalty or fine for those not entering into a further lease.

Having just spent most of the day rummaging through heaps of paper, I can find no mention of this.

We bought in 2006 , building B, the terms in the contract ( find above in French) specify - the lease reaches its term in the 11th year. The lessor will have to inform the lessee of his intention to renew or not, at least 9 months before the end of the term

we bought the apartment with the understanding that it would be ours to do as we pleased at the end of 11 years. I believe the majority of English owners, like us, have not realised there could be problems?!
